Why did you become a midwife?

“My work in midwifery is more than birthing babies and more about seeing the birth of powerful and rooted women.
Women growing into themselves, finding their voice and trusting their inner knowing.
I do this by providing them a safe place to ask questions and explored their emotional stirrings during our prenatal visits, birth and postpartum visits. I do this by not knowing for them, rather knowing and trusting that each one of my client has the capacity of self discovery.”

Meet Tema Mercado, Midwife

Tema is a Xicana mother of six children, grandmother,  wife, and Licensed Midwife.

“I want every baby in this world to be received with reverence and I want each birth giver to know they are powerful. I want them both to go forth from birth feeling Sacred.”
